Use Flatten PDF Form

Your file is processed on your device and never sent to a server.

How to use Flatten PDF Form

  1. Fill in your PDF form first in a PDF viewer, then save it.

  2. Choose or drag the file here. The tool counts the form fields it finds.

  3. Click Flatten form, then download the resulting PDF.

Why flatten a form

An interactive form can be changed by anyone who opens it, and it can look different between apps: entries sometimes don’t show in a phone’s built-in viewer or when printing from a browser. Once flattened, the entries become a fixed part of the page.

It suits sending a finished form to someone else, archiving, or preparing a document for printing.

Things to keep in mind

Flattening can’t be undone in the output file, so keep a copy of the form that is still editable. This tool flattens common AcroForm forms; dynamic XFA forms are not supported and the XFA part is dropped.

This is not protection against copying: flattened entries are still text on the page and can still be copied.

Questions about Flatten PDF Form

What is the difference between flattening and printing to PDF?

Flattening keeps text as selectable, searchable text, while printing to PDF sometimes turns the page into an image or changes the layout.

Why does the tool say there are no form fields?

Your PDF may not be an interactive form, but an ordinary page with text added on top. In that case there is nothing to flatten.

Are XFA forms supported?

No. XFA is a less common type of dynamic form. The tool tells you if your PDF contains one, and only the AcroForm fields are flattened.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs in your browser, so documents such as contracts, diplomas or payslips never leave your device. You can test it yourself: open the tool page, wait a moment, disconnect from the internet, then choose a PDF. With an ordinary PDF, the tool keeps working.

What about password-protected PDFs?

Password-protected PDFs can’t be processed with this tool yet, and it will tell you if you choose one. Unlock the file first with the Unlock PDF tool on Tipamedia (you need the correct password), then try again.

What is the maximum PDF size?

100 MB per file. This limit keeps the browser, especially on phones, from running out of memory. Files that large can feel slow; if it stalls, close other tabs or try a computer.
