How to use Resize Image

  1. Choose or drag one or more images.

  2. Pick how to resize: width, height, percent or exact size (with center crop or stretched).

  3. Check the output dimensions in the list, then download one by one or all at once.

Commonly used image sizes

Some usual sizes: 1080 × 1080 pixels for a square Instagram post, 1080 × 1350 for portrait, 1080 × 1920 for stories, 1200 × 630 for link preview images (Open Graph), and 1280 × 720 for video thumbnails. Each platform’s specifications can change, so check its official guidelines if you need precise sizes.

Center crop or stretch?

When you ask for an exact size whose ratio differs from the original photo, there are two options. Center crop fills the whole frame and trims the extra edges, so the image doesn’t look squashed. Stretch forces the whole image to fit and changes its proportions, which usually looks odd on photos of people.

Questions about Resize Image

Does image quality drop when it is made smaller?

Reducing the dimensions generally stays sharp. Enlarging an image beyond its original size makes it look blurry because the new pixels are calculated, not really there, so avoid enlarging.

What is the difference between resizing and compressing?

Resizing changes the pixel dimensions. Compressing reduces the file size (in megabytes) without necessarily changing the dimensions. For the smallest result, do both, or use the Compress Image tool, which has a maximum width option.

How do I keep the image proportions?

Choose the width or height mode: the other side is calculated automatically from the original ratio. Percent mode also always keeps the proportions.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The whole process runs in your browser.

Which formats are supported?

JPG, PNG and WebP. Other formats such as HEIC, AVIF or GIF are not supported yet because they depend on what the browser can do.
