What counts as a day off
Non-working days are weekends (Saturday–Sunday, or only Sunday on a 6-day work week), national holidays and collective leave. Collective leave is mandatory for civil servants (ASN), but optional for private-sector employees and reduces their annual leave entitlement, so this tool provides a switch to include it or not. A national holiday that falls on a weekend does not reduce working days twice.
The holiday data covers 2026 (SKB Nos. 1497, 2 and 5 of 2025) and 2027 (SKB Nos. 1205, 3 and 2 of 2026). Other years are not available yet: the tool only skips weekends and shows a warning. The next year’s SKB is usually issued between September and December, and we will update the data.
