UUID v4 or v7?
A UUID v4 consists of 122 random bits and is the most widely used; the chance of a collision is negligible for practical purposes. A UUID v7 puts a millisecond timestamp at the start, so its value rises over time. That makes inserts into a database index more efficient and makes it easy to sort by creation time, but the timestamp is visible to anyone who reads the ID.
