How to use OG Image Generator

  1. Enter a title and, if needed, a subtitle and footer text such as the site name. The font size adjusts automatically to fit.

  2. Choose a size (1200×630, 1200×600 for X, or 1200×627 for LinkedIn), a layout, a font and a color theme. The logo is optional.

  3. Choose PNG or JPG, download the image, upload it to your site, set its URL in og:image, and check the result in Open Graph Preview.

The safe zone that keeps it from being cropped

X’s large image card has a 2:1 ratio, while 1200×630 px is about 1.91:1, so a little of the top and bottom edges can be cropped. This tool leaves a margin of about 12% at the top and bottom, so the title, logo and footer text stay intact on every platform. For X, you can also choose a 1200×600 px size.

A long title is shrunk automatically until it fits in four lines. If it still does not fit, the title is cut off with “…” and you are told. A short, clear title is always easier to read on a phone screen.

PNG or JPG, and the 600 KB limit

PNG is sharp for text but the file can be large. JPG is smaller. WhatsApp’s documentation asks for images under 600 KB, so in JPG mode there is an automatic option that finds the highest quality that still fits under that limit. If it still does not fit, you are told to shorten the text or lower the quality.

The contrast of the text and background colors is checked; if it is below 4.5:1 (the WCAG limit for normal text) you get a warning. Your logo and text are not uploaded; everything is drawn in your browser.

Questions about OG Image Generator

What is the correct OG image size?

A common guideline is 1200×630 pixels (a ratio of about 1.91:1). LinkedIn recommends 1200×627 pixels, and X’s large card has a 2:1 ratio (for example 1200×600). All three are available in this tool.

Are my image and logo uploaded?

No. The image is drawn in your browser and downloaded from there. The logo is only read on your device.

Why is the automatic JPG smaller than the PNG?

JPG discards some detail to keep the file small, while PNG keeps everything. For images made of text and simple gradients, a high-quality JPG is usually sharp enough and much lighter.

Where do I put the image after downloading it?

Upload it to your site, then set its full URL in the og:image tag. Check how it looks in Open Graph Preview and clear the platform’s cache if the old image still shows.
